THEATER WORKSHOP OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF ARADIPPOU

The Municipality of Aradippou, within the framework of its community programs and the aim to provide for the citizens, the children and the youth of Aradippou, has created a Theater Workshop. Its main objective is a productive involvement of the children and young people of the municipality while broadening their theatrical culture and education, in the wider sense of the term.

The Theater Workshop was established in December 1999. It blazed its trail with just a few members in the beginning, but thanks to the hard work of its participants, the effort paid off. The Children’s Theater Workshop was established in 2000 and the Adolescent’s Workshop followed soon after that. Among its numerous presentations abroad, the one that stands out is its participation in the national competition of amateur theater that was held in New Orestiada, Greece, where our Theater Workshop received the second prize with the play entitled “Thank god I went mad”), in 2001…………

In 2006, it presented the play “He who disobeys his parents” («Áð´ïí áêïýåé ôïõ ãïíéïý») to the Greeks living in Great Britain.

There are three departments: the Children’s Theater Workshop, the Adolescent’s Theater Workshop and the Theater Workshop for Adults.

With the hard work of our Directors and the undivided support of the Municipality of Aradippou, the Theater Workshop continues its course. Its goal is to improve the level of its work and to faithfully serve the art of theater.
